Hermanus and Whale Tour

This tour runs from July to the end of October only.

Hermanus is famous for being one of the best land-based places to whale-watch in the world. The best time to see these beautiful mammals is between July and November.

The Southern Right Whales come as close as 50 metres to the shore and are known to breach, lobtail, spyhop and court in the waters. It's nothing short of amazing!

We leave Cape Town via the apple orchards of Elgin, and stop off at the Old Harbour Museum in Hermanus. It was used to provide safe shelter for small fishing boats drawn to Hermanus. Then it's time to marvel at the whales frolicking in the bay and enjoy a light lunch in the picturesque seaside town before visiting a local vineyard for wine tasting.

We then take you on a scenic drive to Kleinmond for a visit to the stunning Harold Porter Botanical Gardens. The spectacular “Riviera of the Cape” coastal drive via Gordon’s Bay takes us back to Cape Town where whales can be spotted in the Indian Ocean. It is important to note that since this tour is working with wild animals, we cannot guarantee sightings.
