Wander around the historic town of Stellenbosch, see where Nelson Mandela was released from prison, savour Franschhoek, the French corner of the Cape and enjoy numerous tastings and a light lunch.
You'll discover the beauty and history of the Cape Winelands on this tour. We visit the Afrikaans Taal Monument in Paarl and stop at the Drakenstein Prison where Nelson Mandela was released in February 1990. In the Franschhoek Valley we visit the French Huguenots Memorial and call on many fine wine estates in the gastronomic capital of South Africa. We cross the Helshoogte Pass and descend into historic Stellenbosch for a light lunch and some more wine tasting. The great thing about visiting the Winelands is that wine can be drunk no matter the weather, in fact many say the best thing to warm a cold day is a glass of fine red wine. Cheers to that!
